I have a unique set of prior work experiences that have prepared me for this position, as I have seen the legal process from all perspectives:

THOMPSON COBURN, LLP

At Thompson Coburn, I've experienced the legal process from the defense perspective. Since February 2009, I've been trusted by multi-national corporations to handle 100's of complex cases where millions of dollars are potentially at stake.  I've done this work in 40 States (and counting) and in courtrooms across Illinois and Missouri.  No challenge presented to me as State's Attorney will be too big.  I'm prepared to dedicate myself 24/7 to Monroe County. 

THE HONORABLE ROBERT W. GETTLEMAN, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE NORTHERN DISTRICT OF ILLINOIS

I was honored to  be one of the few chosen to experience the legal process from the judicial perspective. I served as Judicial Extern to Judge Robert W. Gettleman, where I prepared draft opinions, orders, and bench memoranda, and attended all phases of criminal trials, including pre-trial, trial, sentencing, and post-sentencing probation hearings.

CITY OF CHICAGO, DEPARTMENT OF LAW

I experienced the legal process from the prosecution perspective while working as a Legal Extern for the City of Chicago.  While there, I assisted Corporation Counsel in the Building and Land Use Litigation Division with all aspects of prosecution of building code, land use, and zoning violations.

THE JOHN MARSHALL LAW SCHOOL, PROPERTY LAW TEACHING ASSISTANT

As a teaching assistant, I worked individually with first year law students during office hours to answer questions, review classroom materials, and assist with exam preparation.

HERTZ LOCAL EDITION, BRANCH MANAGER

Prior to enrolling in law school, I worked as a branch manager for Hertz Local Edition to save money to pay for my legal education. As a branch manager, I oversaw two Hertz Local Edition rental car stores with yearly revenues over $500,000, and was responsible for 3-4 employees and a fleet of 40-60 cars at any one time.
